Viewing printer status Once you send a print job to a desktop printer, you can monitor the status of the print job in the Printer Status dialog box. There are two ways to open the Printer Status dialog box: Select (highlight) the appropriate desktop printer icon, then select Open from the File menu. Double-click the appropriate desktop printer icon.
