Clearing a media jam |

		|

If the printer has frequent media jams, make sure that you follow these guidelines:
-

Always use high-quality laser paper, recommended labels, and Xerox transparencies, glossy paper, and fabric transfer media.

-

Make sure that you load specialty media
only
in the Multi-Purpose Tray and that you set the Media Thickness Switch to the correct setting for the media used.

-

To prevent jams, clean the printer's rollers. See
 Occasional cleaning
 for details.

If a media jam occurs, the front panel reports
Jam at <Location>
on the display's first line. The
<Locations>
are the various sensors throughout the paper path, listed as
A
 through
E. The second line of the display directs you to the location; for example,
Open left side door. Inside the printer's front door is a label showing the location for each jam.
