Connecting Peripheral Devices

Your printer's optional SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) port is used for connecting external hard disk drives and scanners -- all are SCSI devices.

The Plus, Duplex, and Extended configurations of the printer include support for SCSI devices; Standard configurations of the printer require the Plus Features option (option FP, order number Z740FP).

The printer supports up to seven SCSI devices, as long as each has a unique SCSI ID number ( any number between 6 ) and the final device in the "daisy chain" is appropriately terminated. Devices can be connected in any combination of model and storage capacity.
