Log on to the file server NetWare 3.x. Log on to the default NetWare file server as SUPERVISOR or SUPERVISOR equivalent. Many of the operations performed using the PhaserShare Administrator require SUPERVISOR privileges (for example, creating queues).
NetWare 4.x. In Bindery mode, log on to the default NetWare file server as SUPERVISOR, SUPERVISOR equivalent, or ADMIN /B. Many of the operations performed using the PhaserShare Administrator require SUPERVISOR privileges (for example, creating queues).
Note: While not required, it is recommended that you log in only to the file servers to be configured with this printer. Start the PhaserShare Administrator To start the PhaserShare Administrator, double-click the PhaserShare Administrator icon. Refer to your Windows documentation for complete information on how to start applications. For information on installing the PhaserShare Administrator, see Installation.

When you start the PhaserShare Administrator, the Main window is displayed.
Select a print server
Note: If the printer does not show up in the list of available printers, you could have a network hardware problem, an incorrect frame type, or incorrect search options settings (see Printer does not appear in the Main window printer list). Click the Configure Network button; this displays the Configure Network dialog box.

In the Configure Network dialog box, click the name of the file server where you want to set up queues; you must be logged in as supervisor on the file server you select.
Note: If you are not currently attached to the desired file server, click the File Servers button and log in.
To use an existing queue, go immediately to Step 5; to create a new queue, continue with Step 3.
In the Configure Queue(s) dialog box, click the Create New Queue button; this displays the Create New Queue dialog box.
In the Create New Queue dialog box, enter the name for the new queue. When you are finished, click OK; this returns you to the Configure Queue(s) dialog box.
In the Configure Queue(s) dialog box, find the name of the print queue in the Available Queues list. Click the name of the new queue to select it.
Click the Add button. The new queue is displayed in the list of Serviced Queues, with a yellow dot to the left of the queue name. The yellow dot indicates that the queue is available to be serviced, but the print server is not yet attached to the file server.
Click the OK button. The PhaserShare Administrator displays the Reset Printer dialog box. In the Reset Printer dialog box, click the OK button to reset the printer to make the new queue a serviced queue.
Note: The Printer Reset Warning dialog box is displayed while the printer is resetting. Click the Close button to return to the Configure Network dialog box. If you wait until the printer finishes the reset, the Printer Reset Warning dialog box will close and the Configure Network dialog box will be displayed. After the reset, you are returned to the Configure Queue(s) dialog box. To verify that the print server is servicing the queue, click the Configure Queues button. The dot next to the queue name should be green; if it is not, see Troubleshooting Windows configurations.
Note: The Printer Reset Warning dialog box is displayed while the printer is resetting. Click the Close button to return to the Configure Network dialog box. If you wait until the printer finishes the reset, the Printer Reset Warning dialog box will close and the Configure Network dialog box will be displayed.
Return to the Main window:
In the Configure Network dialog box, click the OK button to return to the Main window.
Display the Protocol Settings dialog box.
In the Configure Printer dialog box, click the Ethernet or Token Ring tab; this displays the Ethernet or Token Ring tab.
In the Ethernet or Token Ring tab, click the Protocol Settings button; this displays the Protocol Settings dialog box.
Enter the file server name in the File Server field.
Click the OK button. When prompted to reset the print server, click the OK button again. After the reset, you are returned to the Configure Printer dialog box.
In the Main window, click the Exit button to close the PhaserShare Administrator.
If necessary, refer to your printer's user documentation to configure the Tektronix driver to the printer's print queue.
