Phaser® 550 Printer Duplex Printing
|
The Phaser 550 Color Printer now supports manual duplex printing on paper. All Phaser 550 printers have this capability. For best results when using the manual duplex feature, follow these guidelines:
- Use a high-quality, high-opacity laser printer paper.
- Print the side with the most complex graphics first, through any installed paper tray. Print the second side by hand feeding the sheet through the manual feed tray to ensure the best feed reliability. If the paper tray is used for second-side printing, and a large percentage of the prints made on a printer are duplexed prints, cleaning of paper path components may be required more frequently than for single-sided printing.
- When printing several copies of a multiple-page duplexed document, print the copies of each page separately. When all copies are printed, manually collate them rather that using the printer's Quick Collate feature.
- Color laser replaceable components wear out gradually. The types of print jobs you typically send, and your tolerance for print quality changes that occur over the life of the component, will affect your decision about when to replace a particular component. Duplex printing does not wear out replaceable components more quickly, but can be more demanding from a print-quality standpoint. For best duplex quality, you may decide to replace consumable components prior to their full-rated life.
- Refer to the Phaser 550 printer Troubleshooting table (120K PDF
) for information on identifying print quality defects.
