Note: FTP is not available on the following printers: Phaser 340, Phaser 550, and Phaser 540. The printer's FTP directory is /print, and any files sent there are automatically passed to the printer. Inactive data connections are timed out after 1 minute; inactive sessions are timed out after 15 minutes.

The printer's FTP parameters can be changed using PhaserLink software (see View and Configure Interface Settings).
Example FTP session The following example illustrates a simple FTP session with the printer. In this example, the session is opened with the ftp command, followed by the printer's IP address. The put command is used to send the file sample-file.ps to the printer. The bye command terminates the connection.
ftp 134.67.66.11 > put sample-file.ps > bye
The following table lists the supported FTP commands.
NOTE: With the PhaserShare FTP interface, the only transfer mode is Stream.
NOTE: With the PhaserShare FTP interface, optional arguments to this command are ignored.
NOTE: With the PhaserShare FTP interface, only File and Record structures are allowed; the default is File.
NOTE: With the PhaserShare FTP interface, only ASCII Non-printing and Image types are allowed; the default is ASCII Non-printing.
