Token Ring connections and indicators The PhaserShare Token Ring card has the following connections and indicators on the rear panel: Shielded Twisted Pair (STP; IBM Type 1) connector (DB-9). This port supports cable lengths up to 150 meters (492 feet) from the interface to the MAU (including lobe and patch cables). Connection indicator (Ins; yellow). Ring speed indicator (16 Mbs; green). Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP; IBM Type 3) connector (RJ-45). The meanings of the indicators are summarized in the following table: Indicator Off Blinking On Connection (yellow) Printer is not inserted into the ring and is not attempting to insert into the ring. Printer is attempting to insert into the ring. (Both indicators blinking indicates a card failure.) Printer is inserted into the ring.
