What Are MaiLinX Alerts?

MaiLinX Alerts allow the printer to automatically send email to the system administrator and/or specified users when the following conditions occur:

  • Printer Unable to Print - The printer requires attention or when service is needed.
  • Printer Warnings - Printer errors, warnings, and alerts.
  • A reply to a MaiLinX Remote Printing message is desired.

This MaiLinX Alerts capability is supplied by an SMTP client embedded in the printer's firmware.

Setting Up MaiLinX Alerts

To enable MaiLinX Alerts, click ON in the drop-down box for the MaiLinX (and Usage Profile Properties) field. You can designate up to three users to receive messages: Admin, Key User, and Service. You individually assign each type of message sent to each user by selecting Default or Custom from the drop-down box associated with that message type. Select None if you don't want messages sent.
