This
page allows you to view or change general printer settings.
Making these settings from this page is equivalent to making
the corresponding settings from the printer's front panel,
which means the settings are retained in the printer's memory
and are overridden on a job-by-job basis by settings made
from the printer driver.

PostScript Error Information
If the printer
encounters PostScript errors in the print job, it
will not print the job. If you set Print PostScript
Error Information to "On", the printer prints
a report summarizing any PostScript errors that occur
during a print job. You can use this report for troubleshooting.

Timeout Settings
These settings control when print jobs or printer features are discarded.
Wait Timeout
The
value in this field determines how long the printer waits
for expected data during a print job. If the printer does
not receive expected data within the specified period of
time after the job is started, the printer cancels the job.
Enter a value in seconds. A value of 0 indicates no timeout;
that is, the printer does not time out while waiting for
data. The value entered must be between 0 and 65535.
Job
Timeout
The
value in this field determines how long the printer waits
during an interrupted print job before ending the job. Enter
a value in seconds. A value of 0 indicates no timeout; that
is, the printer does not time out on an interrupted job.
The value entered must be between 0 and 65535.
Manual Feed Timeout

for paper to be inserted into the manual feed slot for a
manual feed print job. If paper is not inserted within the
specified period of time after the job is sent to the printer,
the printer attempts to pick paper from one of the paper
trays. Enter a value in seconds. A value of 0 indicates
no timeout; that is, the printer does not time out while

Print
Mode Settings
Change the settings here to adjust print speed and image appearance.
Print Quality Mode
Select
a Print Quality mode depending on your printing needs. These
modes affect the appearance of your prints and the time
they take to print.
-
Fast Color: Fastest color print mode.
-
Standard: General-purpose mode for color printing. Transparencies are always
printed in Standard mode even if another mode is selected.
-
Enhanced: Produces superior text resolution and very smooth light colors.
-
High Resolution/Photo: Produces highest-quality color prints with near
photographic detail. Uses 1200 x 600 dpi. This mode requires the printer's
Plus (DP) or Extended Features (DX) options.
Image
Smoothing
Image
Smoothing blends adjacent colors in low-resolution images
for smoother color transitions. For example, use Image Smoothing
to improve the appearance of a 72-dpi image downloaded from
the World Wide Web. Image Smoothing is not recommended for
300-dpi or higher images.
2-Sided
Printing
You
can choose to print on both sides of a sheet of paper.
-
Disabled: Prints only on one side of a sheet of
paper. Make sure to use this selection when printing
on transparencies; see Paper
Source.
-
Long Edge: Prints on two sides of a sheet of paper so the image
is right-side up on each side. Make sure Letter or A4 is selected as the
Paper Size in the driver.
-
Short Edge: Prints on two sides of a sheet of paper so the image
is printed top-to-bottom on each side.
TekColor

is selected with transparencies, None is used.

page. Best all-purpose selection.
-
SWOP Press: Specification for Web Offset Publications. Use to match U.S.
press standards.

Euroscale Press: Use to match equivalent Imation Matchprint proofs.
-
Commercial Press: Use to match commercial Imation Matchprint proofs. Best
choice for comps.
-

- Vivid Color: Produces the brightest possible colors. Makes blue colors
appear less purple. Use when printing transparencies.
-
sRGB Display: Closest match to computer screen colors.
-

-
DIC: Use to match Dai Nippon printing inks on coated paper.
