Populate Printer Group Help

After you have created your printer Group Name and clicked Next, the Populate PrinterGroup page displays. This page allows you to select printers from any of the other existing groups and copy or move them into your new printer group. Select a source group from the drop-down box on the left side of the screen. You can select any printer group as the source group. Your new printer group displays as an empty group on the right.

The source printer group displays printers by IP Address. The second field is a drop-down list that allows you to select printers by Model, Status, Location, or Contact. Click the checkbox next to each of the printers you want to copy or move. Click the Copy or Move buttons located in the center of the page perform the requested action.

Note: The Copy and Move buttons remain inactive until you make a selection from the source printer group.

Once you have copied or moved the desired printers, you can either click Done to finish, or select another printer group if you wish to copy more printers into your printer group. If you copied or moved printers into your new printer group by mistake or you want to delete specific printers from your printer group, click the checkbox next to those printers and click the Delete Printers button.

Notes:

  • You can only copy printers from the default printer groups. If you select a default printer group, such as All, Ready, or Warning, the Move button displays as inactive. You can copy or move printers between any custom printer group.
  • Access to the Create Printer Group and Populate Printer Group functions is controlled by the Administrator. You may require a user name and password to access these functions. Refer to the Administrator Security Settings page in CentreWare IS.
