EtherTalk Settings Help
EtherTalk - Allows you to enable and disable the protocol. The default value is
On.
Printer Name - Allows you to set the printer's
EtherTalk name. This field can contain a maximum of
32 characters.
Printer Type - Allows you to set the printer's
EtherTalk type to a maximum of
32 characters.
Zone - Allows you to change the printer's
EtherTalk zone. The zone must be
32 characters or less. Null characters cannot be used. The zone entered must be a zone that the printer is on.
Network Node - Reports the node ID established by the
EtherTalk protocol.
Page Description Language - Shows the printer's Page Description Language.
EtherTalk only uses
PostScript.
Filtering - This field allows you to select whether or not the printer strips out control characters. Options are
InterpreterBased or
None. In most cases,
Filtering should be set to
None.
Job Pipelining - Pipelining allows the printer to begin processing a new print job while it is still printing the current job, which increases printer throughput so jobs print faster.

On - The printer can begin processing a new job on this port while it is still printing a previous job.
-
Off - The printer does not begin a new job on this port until the current job is completed.
Note: This field will not display on printers that do not support
Job Pipelining.
