Printing Security Settings Help

To secure your printer and to prevent unauthorized users accessing previously saved print jobs or printing from your printer, set the printer security settings from this page.

Print Host Access List

To prevent unauthorized printing access to your printer, enter the IP Addresses or Host Names of all computers allowed printing access into the Host Access List field. Separate entries with a blank or a comma. Ranges of IP Addresses or Host Names are not supported. If you enter Unrestricted, then all users can access the printer to print their jobs.

Removal of Unprinted Secure and Proof Jobs

Select the appropriate setting so that the printer can automatically and securely remove Unprinted Secure and Proof Jobs from the printer hard drive.

  • Upon Save Changes - The printer only removes Unprinted Secure and Proof Jobs when those files have been changed and saved.
  • At this time each day (24hr) - Select a time value when you want the printer to automatically remove Unprinted Secure or Proof Jobs from the printer hard drive.
  • When jobs are - Select an age value that jobs must be in order for the printer to automatically remove the Unprinted Secure or Proof Jobs from the printer hard drive.

Hard Drive Overwrite Security Options

  • Never overwrite files/jobs - Select this value to disable the printers overwrite feature.
  • Always overwrite when deleting files/jobs - Select this to instruct the printer to always overwrite the jobs on the hard drive when they are being delete to prevent any disk image artifacts of those jobs from being retrieved.

Jam Recovery Options

After a jam has been detected and cleared from the printer, you can set the how the printer will handle print jobs that were in process at the time of the jam.

  • Reprint the jammed page and continue printing the rest of the job - After the jam is cleared, the printer begins printing the job from the point where the page jammed, including that page, through the end of the job.
  • Immediately cancel the entire print job - After the jam is cleared, the printer printer cancels the print job completely.

Click Save Changes to save the new settings or Discard Changes to keep the previous settings.
